Photographers resort to panoramic photography for many reasons, the most common among them are:
The field of view – when your widest lens is not wide enough to cover the entire scene (either due to sheer size of the structure or due to special restrictions).
Image size / Resolution – when there is a need to print very large images, the general rule is the greater the resolution the better. By blending multiple images you get a much larger image resulting in better resolution (clarity and sharpness) when making large prints. Here are some examples for your inspiration.
